Religion should serve you but they have it the other way around.

Joseph Campbell: People don't know how to behave in a civilized society because the people teaching have no idea where the true direction comes from. Since we no longer understand myth, and symbols of the universe, young people make up their own.

Jeremiah 6:10 comments about this when it says.
Their ear is uncircumcised.
THAT MEANS WE HAVE NOT CUT AWAY THE THOUGHTS AND
CONNECTIONS TO THE LEFT SIDE
In other words they have not cut themselves away from the outer.
They listen to others for direction instead of taking direction from the center.
WHERE DOES ALL THE WRONG DIRECTION COME FROM?
The
Bible is very clear
Jeremiah 2:8
The priests said not, where is the Lord. They that handle the law knew me not. The pastors transgressed against me. The prophets prophesied by Baal.
THE PASTORS, THE PRIESTS, THE PROPHETS
DID NOT KNOW
AND DO NOT KNOW
Jeremiah 5:13 The prophets shall become wind. The word is not in them.
THE WORD IS NOT IN THEM
YET OUR CULTURES HANG ON EVERY WORD
Jeremiah 12:10 Many pastors have destroyed my vineyard. The have trodden my pleasant part under foot. They have made it desolate. No man lays it to heart.
WHERE IS THE VINEYARD?
ACCORDING TO GENESIS IT IS EASTWARD WHICH IS THE RIGHT SIDE.
BUT PASTORS HAVE MADE THAT PLACE WITHIN US DESOLATE
NO ONE GOES THERE IN MEDITATION BECAUSE THEY HAVE
BEEN FRIGHTENED BY THE PASTORS
Does that mean today's pastors?
Do they send people into meditation ?
Or do they warn that its occult.
Stay away leave it desolate.
THE VINEYARD-THE GARDEN-THE RIGHT SIDE
How
do I know that the vineyard of God spoken of in the Bible is the right
hemisphere of the brain.
Psalm 80:15
The vineyard your right hand
has planted.
The garden, paradise. Eden where was it planted.
Genesis 2:8 God planted a garden eastward in Eden.
When you look North
East is on the right side
The right side is unknown to pastors.
It is desolate because they do not know the symbols.
Instead they know their groups rules.

Joseph Campbell says, The failure in
our society is there is no understanding of the basic guiding principals that can come only from the center.
We thus make laws that are coming totally from the minds of others.
We make church rules that come totally from the carnal mind.

TO SUIT THEIR BELIEFS.

Romans 8:7 Gods enemy is identified as the carnal mind. It is not subject to the law of God, it is not capable of obeying the law of God.

SIN MEANS, NOT FLOWING IN NATURAL HARMONY
Joseph Campbell: When you learn the harmony of the universal law. The universal wisdom, then you begin to understand that sin is simply getting out of touch with that harmony.

It doesn't mean drinking, gambling, smoking, or sex. It means getting out of touch with the harmony of the universe.

The word infirmities means feebleness.
The feeling of being beat up and
unable to do anything about it.

But was in all points
(All points= Sex, Temper, Money etc,) tempted as we are yet without sin.
HOW COULD HE BE TEMPTED IN ALL WAYS LIKE US AND
BE WITHOUT SIN?
BECAUSE HE KEPT HIS INNER HARMONY WITH THE SUPREME LIGHT
In other words he never got out of touch with the inner harmony so he was able to overcome and survive.

MYTHS OF THE AMERICAN INDIAN
Joseph Campbell says that he started to be interested in myth as he became acquainted with the stories of the American Indian.
There in those stories he read of Creation, Death, resurrection, Ascension to Heaven, Virgin Births.
It was all there.
Everything that he had once thought could only be found in Christianity, he found in the stories of the American Indians.

Later I became interested in Hinduism, and there were the same stories again. And in my graduate work I dealt with King Arthur, and medieval material and there were the same stories again.
So you can’t tell me their not the same stories. I’ve been with them all my life. They came from every culture but with timeless themes.

Campbell speaks of a spiritual awakening that can actually be a bad trip.
This is because people get into it to activate the mystical part of the mind ,but do not bother with the teachings.
So they have no idea what to expect and when it happens, the spiritual transformation with no preparation, may not be pleasant.
If you know where your going you wont have a bad trip.
YOU HAVE TO SPEND TIME IN MEDITATION TO ALLOW
THE PHOTON ACTIVITY TO MAKE THE NECESSARY CHANGES.
YOU SHOULD NOT TRY TO CHANGE ANYTHING OR CREATE ANYTHING
I can testify to the truth of that.
Some people in early stages of meditation see visions of demons and wolves faces etc.
Not knowing the visions are those things that have hurt them being uncovered.
Matthew 8 28-32 describes this. Christ comes into the graveyard of the mind, flushes out the bad thoughts from the deep subconscious and runs them away. Once brought into the light they can no longer hurt you.

Joseph Campbell says its like drowning in the water because you never learned how to swim. The water becomes evil because you don’t know how to function in it.

A power that we do not understand how to use.

CONSCIOUSNESS IS EVERYTHING
Joseph Campbell raises an interesting thing about consciousness.
We only think
of consciousness as part of the head or
the brain.
Consciousness is everything.
Energy is consciousness.
The vegetable world is consciousness.
As you go through the woods you can see all the various plants and flowers doing what they do.
The digestive process in your body knows what to digest and what to throw up.
It’s making a decision. It’s consciousness without a head.

YOU'RE DIGESTIVE SYSTEM MAKES A DECISION ON WHAT TO DIGEST
AND WHAT TO THROW UP
IT'S CONSCIOUS
So consciousness is part of the physical realm.
To transform it to the spiritual
realm requires meditation.
We have given up on that process, so there is no one to pass it along to in the next generation.
Hence the transformation of the mind from the physical to the
spiritual has stopped.
Romans 12:2 be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
But as Joseph Campbell has shown us, no one knows how.

a conversation between Bill Moyers and Joseph Campbell, Moyer's made a very
interesting observation.
His son had gone to see Star Wars 12 times.
When Moyer's asked him why he went so often his son said, for the same reason you read the Bible so often.

So many of us follow the uniform, the authority, the religion.
They are supposed to save us but in reality they kill us.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF RELIGION
Joseph Campbell outlines the development of religion.
In the beginning God was simply the most powerful God among many.
He was a local tribal god.
When the Jews were in Babylon they developed the notion of the savior and a whole new dimension came.
THE EARLIEST BELIEFS WERE CHANGED BY PEOPLE
AND WE BECAME CAUGHT UP IN IT
The whole world then was a few hundred miles around the near east center.
No one knew of the Chinese and their ways or the Aztecs and theirs.
Yet they were practicing the same movement under different names.
EVERYBODY WAS DOING THE SAME THING AS FAR AS
GOD WAS CONCERNED.
BUT THEY HAD NO IDEA THAT EACH OTHERS CULTURES EVEN EXISTED
Joseph Campbell talks of Beirut Lebanon where you see the horror of religion.
There Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, have different names for the same God.
Each group says we are the chosen and hates the other and will shoot the other, yet it’s the same God.
It’s the same with the Catholics and Protestants in Ireland.
The same Jesus.
The Jesus who says love your enemies.
They hate and kill each other.
So what is the purpose since they pay no attention to the one they are fighting to defend.

The earth does not belong to us.

All things are connected like the blood that unites us all.
Man did not weave the web of life.
He is merely a strand on it.
What he does to the world he does to

Our God is also your god.
The earth is precious to him and to
harm the earth is to show contempt to the creator.
Your destiny is a mystery to us.
What will happen when the buffalo
are all slaughtered, when the wild horses are tamed.
What will happen when the secret comers of the forest are heavy with the scent
of men, and the view of the beautiful hills is blocked by the talking wires.
Where will the thicket be.
Gone.
Where will the eagle be.

The end of living.
The beginning of survival.
When our memory is only the shadow of a cloud moving across the prairie, will these shores, and forests still be here.
Will there be any of the spirit of

We love this earth as a newborn loves its mothers heartbeat.

Africa of the Bassari People.

Both myths blame the snake.

The snake symbolizes immortal energy.
It sheds it skin and is renewed.
The serpent thus carries within
itself both the fascination and terror of life.
So indeed life energy is the source of all things good and evil.
The serpent/spine represents the
life force that constantly moves against Adam Physical, and Eve Mind.
Romans 8:7 The carnal mind is not subject to the law of God neither can it be.

RELIGION BLAMES THE WOMAN
Joseph
Campbell says that he
knows of no other place but in the Bible where woman is portrayed as a sinner.
He
says our version of the fall is that nature is corrupt, sex in itself is
corrupt, and the female as the epitome of sex is corrupt.
He says that the explanation of the degrading of woman in the Bible, is that the Hebrews moved into the lands of Canaan where the Goddess was associated with the serpent.
The male God group rejected
this.
Joseph Campbell says, Woman takes the blame in the Bible because she represents life.
Man doesn’t enter life except by
woman.
What Joseph Campbell says is correct.
In the garden Man and Woman are not different

They discover that they are different.

The woman is the heavy.

The basic idea of mythology is of the God who becomes many in us.
The God who lives in me is called the inhabitant of my body.
To identify with that immortal
aspect of yourself is to identify yourself with divinity.

The Kingdom of God is within you.
Eternity is beyond all categories of thought.

That is an important part of all oriental religions.
We on the other hand think about God.
God is a word and idea.
But in essence it is beyond all categories of thought.
It is no thing.
It is no thought.
It goes past anything that can be thought.
We think of God as father.

Joseph Campbell says that in cultures where god is mother the whole world is her body.
There is nowhere else.
The male God is usually someplace else.
The female God is all there is and we are all part of her body.

The amoeba is not male or female.
They develop sexuality later. So God then is neither male or female.

In the ancient religions when one
delves deep into him/her self there comes a moment when he realizes that he/she
is both mortal and immortal. Both male and female.
Actually it was the desire that is and was the fall.
Males desire for company.
Thus the single entity split and
it became male and female. The opposites had arrived.
The arrival of the human species was God telling man, “Don’t eat that”.
Man had to eat the fruit in order
to become the initiator of his own life. The fall made him into a God.

THE FALL HAD TO HAPPEN
Life really began by the act of disobedience that had to happen.

Joseph Campbell says, In India people recognize this.
They greet each other with the palms placed together.
They then bow to the other person.
The palms together that we use in prayer is Hindu.
The greeting is one in which is
said that the God that is in you recognized the God in the other.
These people are aware of the divine presence in all things.
When you enter an Indian home as a guest you are greeted as a visiting deity.
They recognize what is in you.
John 14:20 I in the father, you in me and I in you
John 14:23 Christ and the father dwelling in you.
That is the essential quality, when you realize that God is the creation and you are a creature.
You realize that God is within you and within all life.
HOW DID WE LOSE UNITY ?
GOD GOT TICKED OFF
All we are left with, is that
somebody ate the wrong food, or said some words that got God ticked off.
Well to find the answer we must now listen to the myths.
So then we may be open to truth, universal cosmic truth.
In this way we transcend all
things. No opposites.
Galatians 3:28 sums it up. There is neither Jew, nor Greek, bond nor free. Neither male or female. For you are all one in Christ.

Then you are in trouble, because you don’t know and there is no way to find out.
Joseph Campbell suggests that we begin to pay attention to this.

The Bible says Jesus ascended into heaven.
If we take that literally then there is no place for him to go but to wander forever in space.
We all have to then keep in mind that the Jesus of the Bible was quoted as saying that the Kingdom of heaven is within us.

HE WOULD STILL BE IN THIS GALAXY
HIS HEAVENLY FATHER WOULD BE LOOKING AT HIS WATCH

It is totally a physical,
literal, scientific impossibility.
But if you believe Jesus and listened to what he taught, then you will understand.

IT WAS TO INNER SPACE
To the place from which all beings come.
Into the consciousness that is the source of all things.
The Kingdom of Heaven within.
Thus we must obey him and ascend with him.

the wonderful poetic images of mythology refer to you.

THE MESSAGE IN THE BOTTLE
Joseph Campbell says: The story of Jesus ascending to heaven is a message in a bottle from a shore someone has visited before.
Now Joseph Campbell makes a wonderful point for us all to bask in.
To say “I and the father are one” as Jesus said is blasphemy for us.
However in the Gospel of Thomas Jesus says, “He who drinks from my mouth will become as I and I shall be as he.
Now that is Buddhism.
We are all manifestations of Buddha or Christ consciousness.
We simply don’t know it.
The word Buddha means the one who wakes up.
Let us look at the Bible and
compare.
Romans 13:11, And knowing that now it is high time to awake out of sleep. For now is our salvation nearer then
we had believed.
So then as Joseph Campbell taught, as Jesus taught, as Buddha taught, as Krishna taught:
THERE IS A WAY
There is a way.
A way that will take us above and
beyond the sorrow and the fear and the guilt.
A way that will bring us to a oneness with nature.
No more to be feared but to be joined as family.
To become one with all life on this planet and in this universe.
But to be one, we must follow the one.
The one who parts from the crowd and says follow me.
PUT YOUR RELIGION DOWN
Put your traditions down.
Put your guilt down.
Put your fears down.
Put your life down.
Follow the inner one who says,
Follow me and I will take you to the kingdom.
I will ascend and you will ascend, and we will sit at the right hand of all that is, or ever can be.
